Chimelong Safari Park

Today was a free day for us, so we had our guide arrange a visit to the Safari Park for us and one other family. It was another great day, especially nice for the Safari Park. We had been there on Sarah's trip and knew we didn't want to miss it this trip. The first part of the park is a tram ride through an outdoor, natural environment animal habitat. You drive through the habitats and it's a great way to get up close to all the different animals. Leah was interested, but there wasn't nearly as many ooh's and aah's as there was with Hannah and Sarah. Leah hasn't actually come out and said it, but we think she might be a little afraid of animals. All animals, even cute, fuzzy little puppies. She doesn't shrink from them, but she never wants to get close either. No matter, the zoo where they're all caged isn't a big problem.

Almost more interesting to Leah than the animals were the signs for all the exhibits. Animals, great! But here's a sign to pose in front of! Hence all the posed pictures in front of signs. By the end of the park, everyone was pretty much starving and tired so we headed back to the hotel.

After an really expensive lunch with really expensive cokes, we touched base with the family from yesterday with the daughter Leah's age. We made plans for another room visit for the girls. It's mutually beneficial as Leah is missing the company of kids her age and the other daughter wants to get out of their small room with 2 small newly adopted boys. Whatever the reasons, we had a nice time in our room. When the long day started catching up with Leah, she decided that guest or no, she was going to get on the computer. When we told her no, we got quite a bit of attitude and then the silent treatment for about an hour and a half. She is slowing coming around, but my guess is it's going to take a good night's sleep to get back to normal. She is running fairly on target--just a few days later than what it took Hannah to start pushing back. It actually makes us feel a little better, since we knew that it was too much of a strain for her to try to constantly please us. Not that it wasn't nice for a while...
